Our Pastor
Rev. Joseph Kim
Welcome! I'm glad you've visited our website and hope this brief introduction helps us begin to connect.
I was born and raised in South Korea and came to the United States for college. I studied sociology at the University of Texas at Arlington and theology at Dallas Theological Seminary and Perkins School of Theology at SMU. I have served several United Methodist congregations in New York and have been honored to serve Manlius United Methodist Church since July 1, 2013.
My wife, Jisun ("Sunny"), and I have been married since 1991, and we are blessed with three children: Ezra, Abe, and Candace.
I did not plan to become a pastor. In fact, I tried to avoid it. Yet over time, God placed a deep and persistent call on my heart, and I finally said yes. My greatest joy in ministry is transformation—seeing people come to know Jesus Christ, grow in faith, discover purpose, and serve with joy.
At Manlius UMC, my hope is rooted in Ephesians 3:20. I pray that we will dream God's dreams, become a true house of prayer, and trust God's power to do far more than we can ask or imagine. With God, anything is possible.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. If you are looking for a church home, I warmly invite you to worship with us. There is a place for you here. Let us grow and serve together.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Joseph
